My name is Sivyingcheav Chhour, but most people called me Sivying. I was born in Prey Veng province and I moved to Phnom Penh in 2015. However, I'm turning to 19 years old next month. Currently, I'm majoring in political science and international relations at Paragon International University. I’m also going to be a junior in the next academic year. Moreover, I have been selected as a plastic ambassador in Young Eco Ambassador and also volunteered as a vendor team in UYFC Svay Rieng. Also, last month I applied for training as a journalist at the Cambodian Center for Independent Media (CCIM). Most of my friends wondered why I chose to spend my 3 months of summer break in this field. So, I have never told anyone, even my family, that I am interested to be a journalist in the future. Many reasons motivate me to be a journalist, but the most important point: when I was in high school, I used to watch TV every single morning because I had a relative working as a speaker in CNC. This point is the first place that pushed me to be interested more in this field. I like to write essays every night and also spend my weekend time reading some articles related to my major. Furthermore, after joining the journalism training session, I have a strong interest to be an assignment editor.
